Stable Section Overview

How to create a horse profile, manage owners with percentage splits, configure boarding, feeding plans, veterinary contacts and weight estimation.

The Stable section in the side menu is the central registry of all horses kept at the equestrian center. From here you can create profiles, manage owners, configure boarding, feeding plans, primary veterinarians, and track medical history.

The Stable List

The main page displays all registered horses. For each horse, the following details are shown:

  • Name, breed, and gender (Stallion, Gelding, Mare).
  • Owners with their respective percentages.
  • Current Status (e.g. Active, Leased, In Training, Deceased).
  • A red Health deadline badge if any medical tasks are overdue.

You can filter the list using the search bar, the Groups filter, and the A-Z alphabetical selector. Use the Show archived toggle to view inactive horses.

Creating or Editing a Horse Profile

  1. From the Stable page, click + Add.
  2. On the New Horse page, fill in the required fields under Main Information:
    • Horse Name.
    • Breed and Color (e.g. Cherry Bay).
    • Gender — Stallion, Gelding, or Mare.
    • Date of Birth — age is automatically calculated.
    • Status — select one of the available statuses from the dropdown: Active, Leased, Half-Leased, Resting, In Rehab, For Sale, Transit / Guest, Retired, Foal, Breeding, Quarantine, In Training, Deceased.
  3. The In stable toggle at the top right indicates whether the horse is currently stabled. While creating a profile it only records this information: it asks nothing else and starts no departure procedure. If you leave it off, the horse is still created, but it only shows up in the Stable list when you enable Show archived.
  4. Click Save.

To edit an existing profile, open the horse and click Edit profile at the top right.

On a profile that already exists the same In stable toggle behaves differently. Turning it off opens the Stable Departure window, which lists what will be closed (upcoming lessons, owners, boarding, assigned riders) and shows the pro-rata recalculation of the current month's fee; to confirm you must pick a Departure Reason (Sold, Deceased, Transferred to another facility, Boarding contract ended, Other). The departure is only recorded when you save the profile. If you switch the toggle back on for a horse that has already left, the app asks for a confirmation and warns that boarding, ownership and lesson assignments are not restored automatically.

Owners and Ownership Percentage Splits

The Owners section on the horse profile displays who owns the horse and how expenses are divided. Two percentages are shown for each owner:

  • % Ownership — legal property share.
  • % Board — monthly boarding fee percentage assigned to each party.

To edit owners, click Manage Ownership. A two-step wizard will open:

Step 1 — Owner Shares:

  • Search and add owner members.
  • Set % Ownership and % Board for each member. Both columns must sum up to exactly 100%.
  • Click Next.

Step 2 — Pro-rata:

  • The system shows proportional charge calculations for the current month.
  • Shows Accrued (past days) and Forecasted (remaining days) amounts per owner, with the Month Total.
  • Click Save to confirm.

The Payments module will use these percentages to automatically split all monthly charges.

Boarding

The Boarding card on the horse profile displays the assigned boarding option and its monthly cost. Click the edit icon to change it: the system lists available types (e.g. Box, Paddock green, Paddock paradise, Paddock yellow) with prices.

If the change occurs mid-month, a Change Boarding modal opens to calculate the pro-rata: showing current boarding accrued days vs. new boarding forecasted days, splitting amounts per owner. Click Confirm and recalculate to apply.

Note: boarding types and prices are configured in the center's Settings section.

Feeding Plan

On the Feeding Plan card, you can define the daily diet. Click Edit to open the Edit Plan modal with fields:

  • Morning — e.g. "10 Kg of hay".
  • Afternoon — e.g. "None".
  • Evening — e.g. "10 Kg of hay".
  • Supplements — dedicated field for supplements and specific instructions.
  • Notes — special notes for stable staff.

Feeding notes are highlighted on the profile with a colored container for immediate visibility.

Lesson Availability

The Lessons card controls whether the horse can be selected when scheduling lessons:

  • Available for lessons — toggle on/off. When enabled, the horse appears in the lesson scheduling picker.
  • Assigned riders — list of students permitted to ride this horse. Add or remove riders directly here.

Primary Veterinarian

The Veterinarian card displays the professional assigned to the horse with contact details and three quick-action buttons:

  • Send Email — opens email client.
  • Call Veterinarian — initiates direct phone call.
  • WhatsApp Message — opens a WhatsApp chat.

Select a vet from the Professional Directory: a search window lists contacts with role badges. If not registered, click New contact (Name, Phone, Email, Category) to add them.

Weight Estimation

The Estimated Weight card displays the latest calculated weight and measurement date. Click + to add a new estimate. The Horse Weight Estimation modal uses the Carroll & Huntington formula:

  • Select unit: cm / kg or in / lbs.
  • Enter Heart girth and Body length.
  • Select Horse type (e.g. Adult).
  • Enter Measurement date and optional notes.
  • Click Calculate.

Click the clock icon next to the title to view historical weight records.

Note: weight estimation is indicative and does not replace veterinary evaluation.

Health and History

The Health & History section displays a chronological timeline of all medical treatments with pagination. Each entry shows type, date, and cost. Overdue items are highlighted in red.

Click + Add to log a treatment. The New Health Record modal opens with fields:

  • Event Type — dropdown selector.
  • Event Title — auto-filled based on type, editable.
  • Date.
  • Next Due Date — quick chips: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, or Custom.
  • Amount — cost of intervention.
  • Performed by — select professional from Directory.
  • Notes.
  • Auto-repeat — toggle to schedule automatic recurrence.

Documents

The Documents section allows attaching files (passports, certificates, contracts). Shows file name, type (e.g. "Contract"), size, and upload date.

PDF Export

The red Profile button at the top right generates a complete PDF summary: basic info, owners, boarding, feeding plan, medical history, and attached documents. Perfect for printing or physical filing.

Groups

Groups help organize horses (e.g. "Over 3 years", "School", "Competition"). Assign a group on the horse profile by clicking + Add group... in the header. Use groups as a filter in the Stable list.

Tip: from the main Dashboard, the Fatigue Algorithm widget tracks horse workload based on scheduled lessons to prevent overworking.
